Ms.M.Deepa Manickam

Ms.Deepa Manickam is an Assistant Professor of Law at TNNLU. She secured the First Rank
in Bachelor of Arts in English in APA College, Palani. Furthermore, her Bachelor of Laws
from Government Law College, Trichy has bestowed her with 5 gold medals that included
University First Rank, Hon'ble Justice Bhagwati Gold Medal. In her B.L., she was the
recipient of the Jeeva Endowment Scholarship from the Government of Tamil Nadu.
Subsequently, she was awarded LL.M on Cyber Law and Cyber Security in 2015 from the
National Law University of Jodhpur with two Gold Medals, securing the University First
Rank with the most prestigious ‘Nani A. Palkhivala’ Gold Medal. In 2016, she qualified her
University Grants Commission- National Eligibility Test. She was also the holder of B.A.,
History degree through Distance Education.
Ms. Deepa Manickam started her teaching career in July 2015 as an Assistant Professor at
TNNLU, where she handled Law of Evidence, Administrative Law, Cyber Laws, and
Professional Ethics. As the Faculty-in-charge of Legal Aid Committee, she has conducted
various ‘Legal Awareness Programs’ in Universities, Colleges, and Schools. She has actively
organized ‘Intra and Inter-Legal Aid Fest of 2017 and 2018 and also a Co-coordinator in
making legal awareness short films funded by State Government of Tamil Nadu under the
TANII Scheme.
Prior to joining TNNLU, she was an Assistant Professor at TNDALU-School of Excellence
in Law from 2018 to 2019, where she taught Banking Laws, Law of Evidence and Cyber
Crimes (PG). She also delivered Special Lectures on Cyber Laws and Digital Evidence, the
notable one was a lecture delivered to the Senior Civil Judges organized by the Tamil Nadu
State Judicial Academy (Regional Centre- Madurai).
Added to it, her research interests are Criminology, Cyber laws and Cyber security. She
served as an Associate Editor for a book on Banking Services: Problems and Perspectives,
organized by SOEL Chair of Excellence on Consumer Law and Jurisprudence in Association
with MINISTRY OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS, FOOD AND PUBLIC DISTRIBUTION
(Department of Consumer Affairs), GOVERNMENT OF INDIA in December 2018-ISBN
No. 978-93-87882-83-6 and she also published an article on ‘Temporary Employment and
Social Inequality In India: Anatomisation of Predicament in relation to the Inter-State
Migrant Workers’ in Government Law College Law Journal (March 2017) [ISBN: 978-81-
933361-9-9]. In addition to it, she has also published articles on reputed Journals and
presented papers in many numbers of national and international seminars and conferences. As
a Corporal in NCC, she had given her best for the society. Ms. Manickam loves listening to
music and driving.
