Dr. Vishnuprasad R
Dr. Vishnuprasad R has completed his B.A. (2002); LL.B. (2005); and LL.M. (2007) from
Bangalore University, Bangalore; and Ph.D. in Law (2015) from Karnatak University, Dharwad.
He is in academics since 2007 and has taught Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses. In
addition, many elective courses, seminar courses, certificate programmes including the para-
legal courses and distance education programmes as well as a four-quadrant UGC MOOCs
course on Human Rights Violations Redressal Mechanisms have been taught by him. He has
several publications to his credit in his areas of interest in the refereed journals. He has
attended a U.G.C. refresher course for teachers (21 days) at Tata Institute of Social Sciences
(TISS), Mumbai and an orientation programme (21 days) organised by the HRDC, Gujarat
University, Gujarat. He has actively participated in several Faculty Development Programmes.
Also, he has participated and presented papers besides frequently acting as a resource person
in many invited lectures, workshops, seminars and conferences.
Dr. Vishnuprasad has participated as a resource person in the U.G.C. Orientation Programme
conducted by the MHRD UGC Staff College (Bangalore University, Bangalore) for teachers and
Faculty Development Programmes. Besides, he has been a resource person in numerous
training programmes, among others, conducted for the K.A.S officers, Gazetted Officers,
Judges of District Court & Civil Courts, Income Tax Officers, I.E.S. officers, I.A.S. officers, I.R.S
officers, and H.A.L. officers, organised by the reputed institutions like K.J.A. (Karnataka Judicial
Academy, Bangalore), A.T.I. (Administrative Training Institute, Mysore), G.I.P.A.R.D. (Goa
Institute of Public Administration and Rural Development, Goa), D.T.R.T.I. (Direct Taxes
Regional Training Institute, Bangalore), F.P.I. (Fiscal Policy Institute, Bangalore) NACEN
(National Academy of Customs, Excise, and Narcotics, (Faridabad & Bangalore)), and
N.L.S.I.U. (National Law School of India University), Bangalore.
Currently, he is one of the teachers in charge of the Legal Aid Clinic and probono club at the
Tamil Nadu National Law University. Before joining the university, in his prior places of
employment, he had worked as a faculty in charge of the legal services clinic, literary and
debating committee, moot court society, and had also worked as a member of the examination
committee, disciplinary committee, and the convocation committee.
His areas of interest include Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Interpretation of Statutes,
Administrative Law, International Human Rights Law, International Institutions, Human Rights
Jurisprudence, Human Rights Treaty Bodies, and Judicial Activism including the Judicial
Technique of Incorporation of International Human Rights.
