The activity of mooting is sine qua non of any law school. It challenges and trains the lawyers of tomorrow in facing the trials and tribulations of the Court Room. Therefore, it is of paramount importance, in a premier law university of today to develop and foster a strong culture for mooting.
The Moot Court Committee (MCC) of TNNLU strives to achieve this by imparting high levels of excellence in developing the mooting culture in the University . It also works conscientiously in enhancing the stature of the University in the fiercely contested moots of both national and international level.
The MCC has a team of 15 dedicated members from various batches who carry out various functions such as organizing workshops, conducting moot court competitions and taking important policy decisions to promote the mooting standards of the University.
The MCC presently aims to bring TNNLU to the forefront of mooting and successfully host the Second Edition of its National Moot Court Competition with the Competition Commission of India (CCI) in February next year.

“ Moot court competitions”:
I. “ Pro Bono Enviro Moot court competitions ” :
A team of Selvi. Madhuvanthi Rajkumar, Selvi. AN. Visalaakshi, Mr. Jithin George Jackson .K, Ist year students of B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.) course of the Tamil Nadu National Law University represented in the “Pro Bono Enviro Moot Court Competition “ conducted by the University Of Excellence in Law, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai on 25th and 26th October 2013 at Chennai. This was the maiden attempt made by the TNNLS to send a team for Moot Court competition in which TNNLS team was ranked in 13th place out of 30 teams participated in the event.
II. “ Stetson International Moot Court Competitions ” :
A team of four students Mr. M. Lokesh Kumar, Mr. Harshit Sharma, Mr. Rahul M.Shankhar and Mr. S. Vedhavel, Ist year B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.) students of TNNLS participated in the prestigious International Moot Court competitions conducted by The National Law University, Odisha held on 8th and 9th November 2013at Odisha. Though the team could not secure a place in the competition, it was a sincere attempt made by the students to exhibit their skill of advocacy which was appreciated by the organisers of the said competition.
III. Symbiosis Intellectual Property Law National Moot Court Competition
A team of Miss. Shankari Mishra, Miss. Carolin Susan Johnson and Miss. Khushboo Saraf, Ist year B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.) students of TNNLS participated in the Symbiosis Intellectual Property Law National Moot Court Competition held on 7,8 and 9th February 2014 at Symbiosis School of Law, Pune.
IV. Oxford University Moot Court Competition on Constitutional Law 2014
A team of three students Mr. Arvind. G, Mr. Jithin George Jackson. K and Mr. V. Tamilarasan, Ist year B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.) students of TNNLS participated in the Oxford University, India Moot Court Competition on Constitutional Law 2014 held in Delhi on 14,15 & 16 of March 2014.
V. National Moot Court Competition-2014 organised by Damodaram Sanjevayya National Law University
A team of three students Mr. Aditya Balaji, Mr. Tarun Donadi and Mr. Aravind. M, Ist year B.A.,LL.B.(Hons.) students of TNNLS participated in the 1st National Moot Court Competition-2014 organised by Damodaram Sanjevayya National Law University on 15th and 16th February 2014.
VI. Justice P.N Bhagwati National Moot Court Competition on Human Rights
A team of three students Miss. An.Visalaakshi, Miss. Aishwarya Anita Arakal and Mr. Mohamed Ashik Jaman, 1st year B.A., LL.B (Hons) students of TNNLS participated in the 4th Justice P.N Bhagwati National Moot Court Competition on Human Rights held at Bharthiya Vidhyapede New Law School, Pune on 8th and 9th March 2014.
VII. ILNU International Moot Court Competition – NIRMA University
A team of three students Mr. Harsheet Sharma, Miss. Tanushree Aravind and Mr. Rahul Sankar, 1st year B.A., LL.B (Hons) students of TNNLS participated in the “3rd ILNU International Moot Court Competition held at Institute of Law Nirma University during 14 – 16 February 2014.
VIII. National Moot Court Competition – Aura University, Surat, Gujarat
A team of three students Mr. Reuban Philip, Mr. Vidyadhar Goud and Mr. Sudansu Rao, 1st year B.A., LL.B(Hons) students of TNNLS participated in the National Moot Court Competition held on 21,22 and 23rd February 2014 at AURA University, Surat, Gujarat.
IX. National Moot Court Competition - AMITY Law School
A team of three students Miss. B. Nishitha, Mr. G. Abilash and Miss. Amurutha Boppudi, 1st year B.A., LL.B (Hons) students of TNNLS participated in the National Moot Court Competition held on 21,22 and 23rd February 2014 at AMITY Law School.
X. Moot Court Competition – ITM University, Gurgaon
A team of three students Miss. S. Anusha, Miss. M. Bharathi and Miss. Rajalakshmi, 1st year B.A., LL.B (Hons) students of TNNLS participated in the ITMU, Gurgaon Moot Court Competition held on 12,13 & 14th March 2014.
XI. National Moot Court Competitions - Rajiv Gandhi National Law University, Punjab

XIII. National Moot Court Competition on Tax Law conducted by SASTRA University, School of Law, Thanjavur
