Alumni Community 

The alumni of any University are an important part of the community. They have the double advantage of having been students of the University and now as members of the society, working in various places have much to contribute to their alma mater.  We too, at TNNLU, encourage our alumni to be associated with the University. The Alumni Association of TNNLU was formally established by the Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) V.S. Elizabeth in January 2021. The Vice-Chancellor is the Patron of the Alumni Association. 

The first batch of alumni from the Undergraduate Programme was the B.A.LL.B. (Hons) Batch of 2018 and the first batch of alumni from the Postgraduate and the B.Com.LL.B. (Hons) programmes were the batches of 2019. As of August 2022, there are 5 batches of alumni from the B.A.LL.B. (Hons) Programme, 4 each from B.Com.LL.B. (Hons) and the Postgraduate Programmes of TNNLU.

The TNNLU Alumni Association aims to:

• Provide a forum through which the alumni can interact with one another and the University for the furtherance of fellowship, advancement of knowledge in the general interest of the community and the country.
• Enable the alumni to participate in the activities of the University so as to contribute to the general improvement of the University and the alumni as a group.
• Aid in furthering the goal of achieving excellence in legal education.

In pursuit of the above aims the alumni of TNNLU have been participating as special speakers in the Opportunities Ahead programme, a bi-monthly talk series to provide career guidance to the students of TNNLU.  They also have been involved in providing training and guidance to students in preparation for the inter-University competitions like moot courts, alternative dispute resolution etc.  A few of the alumni have actually joined TNNLU as faculty and research assistants in a few of the Research Centres at the University.

TNNLU is a relatively young University and therefore, so are its alumni.  We hope that as they grow in their professions, in step with the University, that there will be greater involvement of the alumni in the curriculum development and financial planning of the University because every University can make great advances, like many of the leading Universities and Institutions in India and abroad, through the active involvement of its alumni in the University’s activities. We encourage and urge each of our alumni to join the Alumni Association so that they can be actively involved in the development of the University.
