Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution

The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) aims to promote the importance and usage of Alternative Dispute Resolution to professionals both legal and non-legal, governmental and non governmental organisations, the society at large an in particular to the people in and around TNNLU by collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organisations and promoting research and writing activities.

It is set up under the guidance and support of Vice Chancellor TNNLU in the year 2021.

Mission

  • To promote the importance and usage of Alternative Dispute Resolution to professionals both legal and non- legal, governmental and non-governmental organisations, the society at large an in particular to the people in and around TNNLU by collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organisations andpromoting research and writing activities.
  • To give suggestions to the Government in framing policy decisions on Alternative Dispute Resolution and to encourage the students of TNNLU to contribute to the research, writing and allied activities in the Centre for ADR.

Vision

To promote Alternative Dispute Resolution as the most sought process of Dispute Resolution in India and to be one of the most sought-after centres for ADR in terms of research and advocacy by creating a solution-oriented culture of dispute resolution in the society, both immediate and at large.

What We Do

  • To promote the importance of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms among legal and non-legal, governmental and non-governmental organisations, the society at large
  • To promote legal research in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution thereby adopt to the evolving trends in Alternative Dispute Resolution in India and elsewhere.
  • To promote research and writing among professionals and students in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
  • To contribute to Policy making process by continuously involving in Research and Development activities in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
  • Conduct seminars and workshops for the students and awareness camps for society to promote the importance and efficiency of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
  • To conduct certification courses on Alternative Dispute Resolution with the help of trained and experienced Alternative Dispute Resolution practitioners in India and abroad.
  • The Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution will involve professionals and students from India and abroad to build a network of individuals with mutual interest in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
