The Trial Advocacy committee was established in 2019, out of the hope of making students more invested in and knowledgeable about criminal law and the complex procedures involved in criminal trials. In addition, the committee was carefully crafted to prepare aspiring legal minds for the challenges of both Inter-University and Intra-University Trial Advocacy, as well as Mock Trial Competitions, thereby delivering a comprehensive education in the real-world aspects of the judicial system.
The committee’s strong dedication to its goals is shown in the diverse range of activities it has organized in the past and the aim of continuing to do so in the future. The Intra-University Trial Advocacy Competitions are at the heart of these efforts, giving students a chance to demonstrate their proficiency in the art of legal reasoning and strategic articulation. Alongside these competitions, the committee also holds workshops at which legal experts share their practical knowledge of trial dynamics with students, helping them make the transition from theory to practice. The committee also conducts Inter-University competitions to enable other colleges and universities to participate and expose themselves to the art of trial advocacy.
The committee’s important role in catapulting students to the national scene is evidence of its unwavering commitment to cultivating legal expertise. By encouraging active participation in National Trial Competitions, the committee has become an invaluable springboard for aspiring advocates. The committee’s record is rife with successes, making its mark in the annals of legal education.
