Biography

Mr. Kurian is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Law in TNNLU since April 2021. Before joining TNNLU, he worked as a Corporate Legal Consultant in Dubai and India. Along with his practice, he was lecturing law subjects for various institutes in Dubai and India. He authored research articles and presented papers in international and national conferences. He is active in community services including constitutional literacy, legal awareness campaigns, and pro-bono legal services for expatriate Indians. 

He started his career as an Advocate in Kerala after graduation from The Kerala Law Academy Law College in 2012. He joined NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad for specialization in Corporate Governance Laws and International Business. He did a teaching and research internship at the School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore from November- December 2013. During his law school days, he actively participated in intercollegiate competitions including moot courts, elocutions, debates, and essay writings. He wrote articles on general issues on various media platforms. 

After completing the specialization, Mr. Kurian joined Crowe International Professional Network Business Advisors and Consultants in their Dubai office in 2014. He was responsible for corporate advisory works and structuring assignments of clients from the UK, US, Australia, and other countries. Later he worked with the in-house legal department of Aster DM Healthcare Group, Dubai (2019-20) and Chanakyatse Consultancy, which was in association with Muhammed Salman Advocates and Legal Consultants, Dubai (2020- 21). Along with his profession, he worked as Adjunct Faculty in Law for Amity University, Dubai Campus.

He did second Post Graduation in International Laws from Middlesex University (UK), Dubai campus in 2019. In his professional life in Dubai, he contributed successfully to the growth and development of various corporate organizations. He advised and assisted in matters including restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, risk auditing, agreement drafting, various cross-border issues, etc., He worked for arbitration disputes before Dubai International Arbitration Center. 

He is giving legal pro-bono services to different voluntary organizations constituted for the welfare of Indian Expatriates. He is a member of the state chapter of Law and Justice Research Foundation (LJRF), an NGO established for constitutional literacy and legal awareness campaign in India. He was the Course Director for the Capacity Development Programme for Probation Support Team, Government of Kerala Social Justice Department from November 2020- February 2021 undertaken by LJRF Academy. He prepared a handbook on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act,2016 under the auspices of the Disabilities’ Commission, Kerala which was published in 2021
