Dr. M. Kumaran is presently working as Assistant Librarian, Tamil Nadu National Law University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. He has completed B.Sc.(Botany) and M.L.I.Sc., (Master of Library and Information Science) from Bishop Heber College, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. He has Cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) Conducted by the UGC in April 2014 and completed his Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.,) in Library and Information Science from Alagappa University, Karaikudi and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.,) in Library and Information Science from, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. He is trained professionally by Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore. He has over all 18 plus years of professional experience.
His research work has been published in 6 Book Chapters with ISBN and 8 of his Research Articles are being published in National and International journals and also 15 of his research articles were published through national and International conferences with ISBN.
He has also served as an Associate NCC Officer (ANO) with Lieutenant Cadre with Gazette Rank at KSRCAS, Tiruchengode, Where, he has conducted many awareness programs to promote the living style of the financially poor and needy rural people.
He has organized 3 National level workshops. Also, he has served as an Organizing Committee member, Chair Person, Associate Conference Director in several Conferences/Seminars & Workshops and He has delivered more than 10 special lectures in different institutions as Resource person. He was holding the position of Associate Editor and has edited 01 book in the field of library and information science.
He has been awarded 3 times for his professional achievements and he was awarded as Best Performer with certificate of appreciation by the Society of Advancement of Library and Information Science (SALIS) National Professional forum.
Being a good reader, and a Sports personality, he has achieved several laurels throughout his career.
His areas of specializations are Library Automation and Networking, Open Source Software, Institutional Repository and Digital library.
