The Centre for Business and Human Rights (CBHR) at TNNLU was set up in 2022 with assistance from the Government of Tamil Nadu. The Centre's main aim is to get a better understanding of and to help the relationship between business practices and human rights in India. The CBHR is aware that business activities can both improve and harm human welfare, so it conducts interdisciplinary research, holds dialogues with stakeholders, and participates in policy initiatives that directly address the human rights consequences of business practices. The Centre's agenda prioritises labour rights, gender equality, consumer protection, and environmental responsibility, and it envisions providing reforms that will make human rights an integral part of economic growth.
