The Pro Bono Club (PBC) is a part of the Nyaya Bandhu Scheme of the Department of Justice, Ministry of Law & Justice, Government of India. Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services) Scheme is the Government of India's flagship endeavour to establish a robust platform for the provision of pro bono (free of charge) legal services across the nation. Under this pioneering program, practicing advocates who are registered as Pro Bono Advocates and eager to undertake pro bono legal work, are seamlessly connected with eligible marginalized beneficiaries through mobile technology.

The Pro-Bono Club at TNNLU was established in 2022. The Club is aimed at strengthening the pro bono legal framework of the country by the involvement of law students and taking forward the mission of the Nyaya Bandhu scheme. The members of the club are referred to as Pro Bono Associates (PBAs), and are tasked with assisting the Pro Bono Advocates in the pro bono cases taken up through the Nyaya Bandhu App.

The Club's activities are thoughtfully structured to fulfil multiple objectives through the following activities:

• Pro Bono Litigation Assistance (PBLA)
• Community Care Legal Assistance (CCLA)
• Research, Documentation & Reporting of Pro bono activities
• Promoting Alternate Dispute Resolution

Through the Pro-Bono Club, Tamil Nadu National Law University reaffirms its commitment to nurture legal professionals across India dedicated to both expertise and advancing social justice and equitable legal access.

2. Create an account by filling in your personal and enrolment details.
3. Verify your account using the OTP sent to your phone number.
4. Select the cases you are willing to take up in the portal.

Steps to Register as an Applicant to avail free legal representation and advice:

1. Check if you are eligible to avail pro bono legal services.

3. Create an account by filling in your personal details and upload proof of eligibility.
