Mrs. Preetham graduated from the School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University Chennai in 2009. She completed her post-Graduation with Intellectual Property Rights Law specialization from the same university in 2011. She secured University First Rank and received three Gold medals, including the University Gold Medal, NEPC Trophy Gold Medal for overall performance, Shridevan Endowment Gold medal, and Scholarship for the batch of 2009-2011. With a passion for teaching, she started her career as a guest faculty in the School of Excellence in Law where she taught Cyber Law and IP-related courses for Undergraduate and Post Graduate students from 2012 July to 2014 July. Later she joined SRM School of Law, SRM University (Kattankulathur Campus) as an Assistant Professor from August 2014 to March 2016. She joined TNNLU in April 2016 as Assistant Professor.
Her areas of interest are Bioethics, Law of Patents, Copyright, Trade Mark & Geographical Indications. With a keen research interest, she has presented many research papers at National and International Conferences. She has also secured the best poster and paper presentation awards including the best oral presentation award & medal at BIOETHICON 2019, organized by UNESCO Chair on Bioethics Asia Pacific Division & SRM Institute of Science and Technology. She has been invited as a resource person to deliver lectures in various schools and colleges. She has also published 4 research papers in Reputed Journals and has Contributed a chapter titled “Working of patents Law and pharmaceutical implications” as a Joint author in the Book titled, Indian Patent Law and Public Health published by Mewar University Press.
