Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav has been adapted in Tamil as Suthanthira Thirunaal Amudha Peruvizha, in short STAP. It is an initiative to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of India's progress and the glorious history of its people, culture, and achievements. On 26th February 2022 the Trial Advocacy Committee (TAC) of TNNLU organized a judgment writing competition on the title, STAP – Intra University Judgment Writing Competition 2022 on Justice and Women, and just as the title suggests, we, the organizers of TAC have based the Trial Preposition on the themes Justice and Women, from Theme 2: Ideas@75 and Theme 3: Achiements@75 from the STAP proposal, respectively.
The competition had series of events like releasing exhibits related to the preposition by emails and on 26th February 2022, the judgment writing competition was organised virtually on the Cisco Webex Platform. The first half of the event was the Trial, wherein the members and volunteers of the committee performed the Trial in accordance with the procedures of law. Following the Trial, there was a short break of 15 minutes. In this period, all the participants were allotted separate break out sessions along with their monitors. The Judgment Writing Competition took place for 1 hour and 30 minutes shortly after the break got over. The event started at 4 PM and ended around 7 PM as planned. The event was huge success in the eyes of the TNNLU family. A large no. of students, faculties and staff of the TNNLU fraternity attended the event. Everyone was very excited throughout the event sure to the outstanding performance by the members and volunteers of TAC. A total no. of 12 students from the UG Batch of 2022 to the Batch 2026 along with the PG student Batch of 2022 took part in the Competition, however only 9 entries were received by TAC. Dr. Nirmal Singh Heera, and Ms. Mrinmoyee Mukherjee, Assistant Professors of Law here at TNNLU had agreed to judge the entries of this Competition conducted by the TAC. The results of the Competition will be released in the mid of March, 2022.
