Biography

prior joining to TNNLU, Ms. Keerthana was engaged as a Lead Associate and Cognifitor in SAPAA Law firm, Chennai for two years. she has a sound standing practice before the Madras High Court, NCLT, Tax Tribunals and Tax authorities at Chennai, Bangalore and Madurai. Her extensive areas of practice include Taxation Law, Corporate and Commercial Laws, Securities and Bankruptcy Laws and Service Laws. She also has an experience in arbitration proceedings pertaining to Corporate and Commercial disputes. Her primary areas of research include Taxation Laws, Corporate & Financial Laws and Procedural Laws.

During her practise, she did also start her academic career as a Guest Faculty at the Post graduate department of Taxation Law in the School of Excellence in Law, The Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai for a period of one year. She has taught a wide range of Tax subjects including General Principles of Taxation, Comparative Tax Laws, Goods and services Tax, Constitution and Local Taxes of India, Tax and IPR. She was an Associate Editor of the Journal of The Department of Taxation Law (JDTL), an annual, double blinded, peer reviewed Journal published by TNDALU.

She has published in varied Scopus indexed, peer- reviewed, refereed and UGC Recognised Journals and has presented papers at National & International Conferences and Seminars. 

Her Primary teaching interest and research include Constitutional Law, Family Law, Taxation Law, ADR and Corporate and Commercial Laws.

She has a keen interest in Moot Courts, Internships & legal aid and has participated, organised and played an active part in these areas during her student hood. She was a member of SASTRA’s drafting committee for developing draft legislation on “Divorce” in the First Law Reform Competition, 2017, on Draft Uniform Civil Code for India.  She has done a certification course on Contract Drafting and Negotiation.
